SEN. GERSHOM BASSEY REVISITS CALABAR MUNICIPALITY WITH MORE EMPOWERMENT




The Senator representing Cross River South Senatorial District has revisited Calabar Municipality with the distribution of more tricycles to its constituents. The Senator who was represented by his DG, Barr. Ekpo Ada distributed the tricycles to constituents, reminding them of the need to put the tricycles to productive use.


The beneficiaries of the tricycles expressed their excitement and gratitude, stating that the tricycles meant a lot to them and will go a long way in catering for their basic needs. They extolled the Senator for adopting a new pattern of leadership, they also thanked him for changing the narrative and not allowing constituents cluster at the gates of politicians to beg for peanuts. 


The groups that benefited from the second visit of the Senator are the Royal Group of Friends, Cal. Municipality led by Offiong Effanga, Platform Group led by Ntufam Inok Edim, Nka ibuot Efak led by Hon Lious Lucas. Others who also benefited includes President Ikot Ekpo, Edet Francis, Head of G-Men, Lawman C. Vicross, Chairman of Neighbourhood Watch(Akai Effa, Ikot Eyo, Ikot Uduak, Ikot Nsisuk, Ediba), Hon. Effiom Okokon.


Sen. Gershom Bassey has been on an empowerment spree as he recently provided N470,000 grant to over 1,000 constituents to commenc a business, trained and empowered 200 women in life skills, another 200 men and women were trained in Solar streetlights and inverter installation. The Senator has also provided streetlights and transformers to different communities, water projects and health projects are also ongoing in rural areas of the Southern District. 


Equally, those who witnessed the handing over of the tricycles expressed their delight. One Etim Peter said 'Even though I am not a beneficiary, I am happy for the beneficiaries. My neighbour who was jobless is a beneficiary, I have seen with my two eyes that ordinary people are benefiting from the empowerment of Sen. Gershom Bassey, May God bless the Senator'.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR
