Speaker Urges NAYS-WW to Preach Peace in Yakurr Nation

 


Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams has called on National Association of Yakurr Students World Wide (NAYS-WW) to use their position as  leaders of tomorrow to preach Peace, Unity and love for one another so as to have a United Local Government.


Eteng made the statement yesterday the 24th day of September 2020 when the students' body paid him a courtesy visit in his office. He thanked them for finding him worthy for the award and promised to continue to support the body in all their activities.


Speaker also wished them academic success and urged them to imbibe the inherent culture of mutual respect, hospitality, Peace, Trust and Unity as virtue that Yakurr was known for.


" Yakurr sons/daughters should be able to build houses in any community in yakurr, if we really need the communities to develop. We have no other Local Government, we must keep and make Yakurr better and we can only do that through love, peace and kindness for one another"... He stressed.


Earlier the National Association of Yakurr Students World Wide NAYS-WW presented an award of honour to the Speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly for his outstanding performance, support and continuous contributions to the growth and development of students welfarism, Yakurr Nation and Cross River State development at large. 


The Executives of NAYS-WW at the courtesy visit include Comr. Abani Kekayo Clement O. President,Comr. Ettah Prince Massaca Gen. Secretary, Comr. Butum Spera Ofem, Dir. Welfare, Caleb Fairer Arong, Philip Edward Ikpi, Francis Eteng, Udumo Esther Ebri, Egbe Matthew and Prince Inyang Ibor.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR

  The Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Cross River State, Professor Francisca Bassey, has expressed concern over the gravity of damage of the University's structures recorded in the wake of the rainstorm which swept through Calabar city yesterday, the 7th of May, 2025.  The Acting Vice Chancellor who was represented by the Director of Administration,  Professor Tom Ojikpong, expressed this concern when she led members of the University's management team on an on-the-spot inspection of the affected buildings in Calabar campus of the University.
