The Vice Chancellor of Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH), Prof. Augustine Angba has given the assurance that the institution is adequately prepared to welcome her students back on campus.

The VC gave the assurance on Tuesday while addressing members of CRUTECH's Media Team in his office. According to him, adequate preparations have been made in various units of the institution in line with the protocols of COVID-19 as directed by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

Meanwhile, an Emergency meeting of the university's Senate is scheduled for this Thursday. It is expected that a revised academic calendar will be considered at the meeting and a resumption date announced thereafter.

Prof. Angba enumerated the areas the state university has adequately covered to include the 'No mask, No Entry' policy of the school's COVID-19 Team, general maintenance and fixing of the hostels across all campuses, fixing of all broken taps on campus for free flow of water to enhance hand washing, provision of Thermometers for checking temperature, amongst others. He added that the institution has put in place COVID-19 test kits and a testing machine and will subsequently begin testing for COVID-19.

A tour round Calabar campus shows that most taps on campus are running, the environment is being adequately kept clean, hostels maintenance is ongoing while security agents are seen enforcing the 'No Mask, No Entry' directive of CRUTECH's COVID-19 Team.
