BIRTHDAY Celebration: CRUTECH Alumni President Describes VC as Redeemer




The National President, Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) Alumni Association, Comrade Eyam Abeng today penned down an emotional message to celebrate the Vice Chancellor of the University,  Prof Augustine Angba as he marks his birthday today.


In a release signed by him and made available to the press, the Alumni President described the Vice Chancellor as a     *"loving father, mentor, teacher and a rare gem who is divinely gifted with all the enviable virtues that can resurrect, resuscitate and reinvigorate even a death system and make it function optimally within a very short time".*


He further noted that Prof Angba was a "Rare Gem and God Sent 'Redeemer' to CRUTECH who has come to liberate, upgrade, transform and place CRUTECH at pair with other world leading citadels of learning".


Comrade Abeng who doubles as the Chairman of PENGASSAN, Lagos Zone, however noted that the good works of the Vice Chancellor was highly visible in virtually all the four campuses of the University in just few months in office. This dedication to the service of humanity has endeared this revered Professor of Agric Econs to many and has attracted several accolades to him globally including an award of honour as United Nations' Ambassador. 


He further passed a vote of confidence and throw his totally support to the Prof Augustine Angba's led administration which he maintain has given an obvious 'face lift' to the University that is clear enough, even to the doubting thomases  which is why he equated believes that indeed he has come to redeem the University.


The Alumni Boss appreciated God Almighty for the gift of Prof Angba as Vice Chancellor of the institution at this material point in time, noting that he is a round peg in round hole. He pledged the Alumni body's continuous support to his administration.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR

  The Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Cross River State, Professor Francisca Bassey, has expressed concern over the gravity of damage of the University's structures recorded in the wake of the rainstorm which swept through Calabar city yesterday, the 7th of May, 2025.  The Acting Vice Chancellor who was represented by the Director of Administration,  Professor Tom Ojikpong, expressed this concern when she led members of the University's management team on an on-the-spot inspection of the affected buildings in Calabar campus of the University.
