A Bye Law To Make Provision for the Malnourished Child In Yakurr LGA & For Other Matters Connected Therewith

 


The Yakurr LGA has recorded a milestone in the fight against malnutrition and malnourishment and other hunger related diseases. 


A Bye Law was sponsored by Hon Usang Eteng Mbang, the Member representing the people of Ukpawen/Nkpolo Ward, who also is the Leader of the Yakurr Legislative Council. The Bye Law is Co-Sponsored by Hon Obeten Otu Ibor, Member representing the people of Ikpakapit Council Ward. 


The idea to pass the bye law was put forward to the Yakurr Legislative Council Leader and his Co-Sponsor by Ifere Paul who has shown a commitment for the provision for the malnourished community in Cross River State. 


Speaking at the passage of the bye law today, the 3rd of June, 2021, Hon Otu Ibor (APC Ikpakapit) praised the bye law as coming at a time when covid-19 has ravaged the livelihood of many homes in Nigeria. 


The bye is poised to create employment for many local government personnel as the need to have nutritionists and dietary personnel to serve as focal persons at the Primary Healthcare Centers is the objective of the bye law. 


The bye law was passed with all member of the legislative council In Yakurr voting for its support. 


Ifere Paul was a special guest of the legislative sitting to witness the passage of the law on behalf of the Commissioner of Health Hon. Dr. Betta Edu.  Cross River State Commissioner of Health.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR
