More than 5000 PDP members defects to APC in Ward 5 Calabar Municipal


The Cross River State  Commissioner of Tourism, Hon Eric Iso Anderson on Wednesday defected with over 5000 People's Democratic Party (PDP) Members and all appointees of the Government to All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ward 5, the seat of government in Grand style.  


The event which attracted party stalwarts from Calabar Municipality and across the state was witness by the Commissioner of Urban Renewal and Development, Hon Emmanuel Edward,  Mayor of Calabar, Hon. Effefiong Nta Eke and the APC  Local Government Caucus Leader, Ntufam Omin Iso and Technical Assistant to the Vice President, Mr Philip Obin.


Leader of the Ward, Hon Eric Anderson noted that the movement to APC with His Excellency, Senator Prof Ben Ayade was the beginning of the total emancipation of the youths in the ward. He reiterated the Ward and the Local Government undiluted support to the Governor who he described as the father of the youths and industrialization.


The Mayor, Hon Effefiong Nta Eke applauded the State Governor for his magnanimity shown to the youths by creating a leeway for them in top political positions. He showered praises on the leadership of the All progressive congress (APC) in the Local Government for opening their arms wide enough to accommodate them and vow to carry everyone alone in the political scheme of the LGA.


Notable among the appointees who defected with their massive supporters are Essienawan Eso Archibong who is the LGA Legislative Leader, S.A Entertainment,  Effiom Trombone Bassey, Director General of Border Patrol Agency,  Capt Edet Otu Ita, S.A Agriculture, Dr Samuel Bassey Offiong, S.A Public Infrastructure, Charles Ekanem,  Special Assistant to the Governor, Richard Okon Otu (De Blues), Ekanem Ekpenyong, Ekong Kingsley Tom,  Odo Hogan, Richard Effanga, J B Eno among many others.
