Alumni President Expresses Delight as UNICROSS Senate Approves New Logo, Vision Statement, Calls for Support




 




The National President of Cross University of Technology (CRUTECH) Alumni Association, Comrade Eyam Abeng has expressed delight over the recent approval and adoption of the new name, logo, mission and vision of the institution by the University Senate, adding that this was germane for a smooth kickoff as a full conventional University.



Comrade Abeng who made this known via an official released dated 20th August, 2021 signed by him and made available to our correspondent, noted that with such captivating and appealing logo, the University stands out among equals and that equally means all is now set for the University to flourish. 


While appreciating the good works of the ongoing Transition Committee and Senate of the University, the Alumni National President noted that "arriving at such adorable and admirable logo as well as the purposeful vision and mission statements deserve commendations, as it is indeed not an easy task."


The Alumni Boss further thanked the University Senate for what he described as "speedy approval needed for a smooth kickoff and massive development of the University geared towards actualising Senator Prof. Ben Ayade led administration's dreams for the University", the release stated. He further called on all stakeholders, especially the political office holders and other well-to-do elites  of Cross River State to support the University this time as the Management plans to expand it to a world class citadel of learning.  

  

Recall that on 12th August, 2021 the Chairman of the University Senate, Prof. Augustine Angba had convene an Emergency Senate meeting to consider the new name, proposed logo, mission and vision of the University by the Transition Committee earlier set up, among other sundry issues.


The new approved Vision of the University now reads as follows: "Be a center of excellence in education with highly qualified and motivated staff, and excellent teaching and research facilities for the production of graduates that can compete with their peers globally." Also endorsed by the Senate is the Mission statement which read:  "To produce well-trained graduates and researchers equipped for active participation in socio-economic development."
