Nigeria @61: Rt. Hon. Bisong task Nigerians on unity to curb security challenges

 



As the nation marks its 61 Independence Anniversary, a lawmaker in the Crose River House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong, has called on all Nigerians to be united with a sense of purpose in other to curb the myriads of security challenges facing the nation.


In his Independence message made available to journalists in Calabar, the Lawmaker who represents Boki II in the assembly, said it was only unity, love and cooperation of all Nigerians that would help to reduce cases of insecurity across the country.


Bisong, who commended the military for its doggedness in the fight against insurgency in troubled spots in the country, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to show more strength and commitment in the fight against insecurity.


He noted that no meaningful development can thrive in a hostile area, hence the need for the Federal Government to deploy adequate manpower to troubles spots across the country.


Hon. Bisong called on Nigerians to always avail security agencies with timely information that would help them to respond to cases of emergency on time.


On employment, the lawmaker observed that Nigeria was celebrating her 61 Independence anniversary with millions of youths still unemployed.


He urged the Federal and State Governments to budget social funds that would help the youths to start small scale businesses that will engage them productively.


He thanked his constituents for their continues support and corporation for all his activities in the assembly.


"As we celebrate Nigeria today, we should restructure our attitude from the way we do things, to the way things needs to be done.


"Never forget the sacrifices of many who fought just to see you celebrate freedom.

Have pride when you say “I’m a Nigerian” because Nigeria is a great country," he said.
