Dr Ekpenyong Felicitates With Nigeria on the Nation's 61st Independent Day Celebration




The Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Janet Ekpenyong has felicitated with Cross Riverians on the occasion of this year's Independence day celebration as she called on collaborative effort  in strengthening the Health sector across the country.


The DG who made this known in a goodwill/ felicaitatory on the occasion of the nation's 61st Anniversary said, the nation must grow beyond regionalization and ethnical sentiments  especially at the moment when the nation needs to unite to build a formidable health system for all and sundry.


She prayed God to bless our leaders with the will and vision to serve the interest of the people and lead the nation to the promise land we all desire.


"On this special event of Nigeria's 61st Independence day celebration, I wish to congratulate all Cross Riverians and Nigerians in general for the love and harmony which has kept us united and commited in line with the goals of our founding fathers.


In the past 61 years, this proud nation of ours have produced world celebrated and renowned health professionals who have brought pride and Honour to our state and country, 


In spite of all these recorded achievements recorded by individuals and regions, it is time to collaboratively work as an entity in building, reforming and drastically changing the Health sector in the country to meet global , but unfortunately, the past year and the pandemic has informed for more investments to be made towards that sector.


As a state, we are proud of our achievements in the Health sector with the numerous innovations being introduced by our dear Governor, Senator Ben Ayade and the ever dedicated health team, moving on this pace, we are sure of having the most functional health system in the country  through the support of everyone.


As an Agency, we will continue to ensure that our people especially in the rural areas get uninterrupted access to the best, quality, reliable and uncompromised access to health care as this is another opportunity to remind us all of the Covid-19 pandemic and it's Vaccination procedures ongoing across the state, kindly get vaccinated and protect yourselves.


Once again, in Unity and love, I want to wish the President, His Excellency, Mohammedu Buhari, the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade and his dear wife Dr Linda Ayade, the Deputy Governor of the State, His Excellency Prof Ivara Esu and his dear wife, Mrs Omotubde Esu, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Betta Edu and all the health team including Management and staff of Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency a wonderful 2021 Independence Day Celebration".

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. During the meeting, Engr. Egbe emphasized the importance of safeguarding all critical public infrastructure and ensuring close collaboration between the Ministry of Public Utilities and the NSCDC in achieving the Governor’s vision for a sustainable and secure state. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR
