UNICROSS ALUMNI PRESIDENT, ENO, CASTRO, OTHERS DONATE THREE MILLION NAIRA TO SUPPORT UNICROSS VC’s FOTOS PROJECT

The University of Cross River (UNICROSS) Alumni Association’s President, Comrade Eyam Abeng has continued to set exemplary standards by leading fellow alumni to making a whooping donation of three million naira to support their alma mater’s Vice Chancellor’s Feed One, Train One Student (FOTOS) Project in celebration of the latter’s one year in office.


The Vice Chancellor’s one year anniversary, featured a beehive of activities, with the climax of the celebration held yesterday at the Calabar campus of the university, with  the launching of the FOTOS (Feed One, Train One Student) project, meant to feed and train indigent students of the institution.


National President Comrade Eyam Abeng gave 850 thousand Naira, Elder Eno Eno Thompson donated 2 million Naira, the Chairman of Transition/ Reunion Committee of UNICROSS Alumni, Castro Ezama, the Immediate Past President, Mbotor Mbotor and Prince Otu Peter presented 200,000 Naira each, capping three million naira donations from a retinue of the university’s alumni members.


Speaking to newsmen at the event, Comrade Abeng stated that the Alumni Association under his watch is strictly in the business of value addition and bettering the condition of its alma mater for the overall weal of staff and students of the university.


The Alumni Association’s President, who spoke glowingly about the VC’s giant strides in barely a year in office, congratulated and wished the university don a successful tenure as he continues his mission to take UNICROSS to greater heights.


When quizzed on the lingering leadership issues bothering the Alumni Association, Comrade Abeng refuted any claim, saying such musings are from a small group of renegades in their failed attempt to emasculate the Association of true democracy and due process.


Continuing, Comrade Abeng said there is no disquietude in the leadership of the Alumni Association, as a Transition/ Reunion Committee, earlier set up, is working assiduously towards a seamless transition of leadership through the amendment of the constitution in ensuring an all-inclusive for all generations of our graduates. 


“We will continue to support our Alma mater and the university community,” Comrade Abeng concluded.
