CRS 2023;WE WILL SUPPORT YOU AND WAIT FOR OUR TURN-ETUNG LEADERS TO SEN GERSHOM BASSEY




Senator Gershom Bassey, Senator representing Cross River South at the Red Chamber and the Governor hopeful whose entourage included PDP leaders and stalwarts across the three Senatorial Districts consulted the Etung people, declaring his ambition to contest Governorship in 2023.


During consultation with the Etung chiefs, Sen. Gershom Bassey appreciated them for the warm reception they offered him and said he came to consult and seek their support to make him Governor of Cross River State in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in 2023.


Ntufam William  Ndom Eju, one of the oldest Chiefs said;  The Etung people are pleased that Sen. Gershom, one of the three wise men who has the Cross River State blueprint has come to consult them. In his words; although many have come but Senator Gershom is the first to consult the Etung Chiefs and as such we will reciprocate the gesture by supporting you. We are the voice of the people.


Also speaking during the consultation, the Chief of Ajaso Community, Ntufam Isong Mbu said "Ajaso is an Ejagam Community which extends family ties with the southern Cross River and as such, the Etung people would support the South in all ramifications to produce Governor in 2023, while assuring Sen. Gershom of their vehement support from the people of Ajaso Community and Etung to make him Governor of Cross River State In 2023 for recognizing them during his consultation.

and leader of PDP, Mr. Kajang Obaji, while speaking and assuring said; I want to assure you and your team that Etung is accommodative. Etung is friendly. Etung is strongly in the politics of the PDP and we are crying that we take over, reclaim, enjoy  our stolen mandate and I can assure you that Etung people will support you. He further stated that; despite being young in age, we understand exactly the politics.  We haven't gotten where we should be because our time hasn't come but we are patient enough to wait for that time. We certainly know the rudiment of politics. Politics move with a lot of tales and stories. It is not over until it is over.


Addressing the party faithfuls, Civil Societies, Support Groups, Senator Bassey said he has come to celebrate the new year with the Etung people and also to seek their support towards his aspiration to become Governor in 2023. I have seen your love for PDP and the party is waxing stronger in Central Senatorial District. The bond that is sustaining you is an assurance that PDP will win all the elections in 2023. Keep it up and I thank you once again for your assurance to support me, he concluded.


The Senator doled out cheques and cash sums for the empowerment of the people and promised them more empowerments. 


The Senator was presented with an award of excellence by the youths who said they have enjoyed immense support from the Senator's benevolence.
