George Oben-Etchi gets surprise Birthday celebration in Youth House Calabar

 



National Youth Council of Nigeria Cross River State Chapter, threw a surprise birthday celebration on Monday in youth House Calabar, Cross River State.


His youthfulness Daniel Obo said that all the state leadership of National Youth Council, Cross River State can not throw away the contributions of Rt. Hon. George Oben-Etchi in the Youth House.


Obo congratulated the Rt. Hon. on his support and going out of his way to help the council and make bold to say that the youth will support him anytime.



Chairman noted that Rt. Hon. Is always coming for youth events, no matter how small it is, and went ahead to describe him as " You are more like a bridge between the young people, the government and even your generation".



In the same vein, the commissioner of Youth and Sports Hon. Signor Omang Idiege noted that Rt. Hon. George is the chairman of the commissioner's forum in Cross River and he had been Championing the activities of the youths in the state and prayed that God should grant the wish of the youths in Cross River State.


Also speaking the D.G of the state electrification agency Mr. Stanley Nsemo stated that his relationship with Rt. Hon. George is like most of the people here that are celebrating with the celebrant.


He added that the celebrant has built a lot of young people and he's a beneficiary.


In response to the tribute, Rt. Hon. George Oben-Etchi said I would never receive an award that I have to pay for and for the last 15 years I have been in politics, the awards I have received, majorly are awards that come from students' bodies because they are honest awards.



" in the last 15 years, I have been celebrating people's birthday and it has shown that whatever you do in this life, will always come back to you. There is no seed that you sow that would not come back to you in hundreds fold".


"Before I began my journey, I consulted God, I had a covenant with Him and he told me, I have seen that your purpose is pure, I have gone ahead of you, I will be with you and behind you, I have accepted my covenant with you".


The celebrant noted that he had played politics to a level that young people can gather to celebrate him, and went ahead to commit with the youths that he would never be bigger than the youths.


Still addressing the Youth, George said" for the fact that Ben Ayade gave many of us opportunities, means that you are seeing him on daily basis".


" Today I happened to be the person that brought biggest investors that would invest in all our industries in the state built by the Governor ".


He urged the youth chairman and his executive to make out time and go for a tour to all the industries and he will sponsor the trip.


He opined that the first duty of every government is to protect life and property and to make sure he takes care of the general well-being of its citizens.


Every industry this government has built is main to create Jobs for young people and talking about raising IGR for the state, Jobs must be created.


He concluded that the foundation that Governor has served, is a foundation for prosperity.


The Chairman of Akamkpa Local Government Area Hon. Linus Etim Bassey led the youths into chanting" Happy Birthday to the Rt. Hon. George, wish him more years with good results and health.


The event features cutting of the cake by the celebrant, rendering of tributes, and taking of photographs.

Linus Etim Bassey, Chairman Akamkpa Local Government, Mr. Stanley Nsemo, DG state electrification agency, State Commandant Peace Corps Dr. Dominic Okweche, Mr. Hope Obeten, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of Cross River, and many others.
