BREAKING NEWS: South South Progressive Women Endorse Dr Mrs Betta Edu as National Women Leader of APC


 

In Preparation for the Forthcoming National Convention slated for the 26th of March 2022, the South South Progressive Women has endorsed Dr Mrs Betta Edu as the best Candidate for the National Women Leader Position.


Speaking today Sunday 20th of March 2022 in Port Harcourt during their General Meeting, the National Coordinator of the Group Chief Mrs Patricia Okeyegema Okiogha thanked the Party for Zoning the Office of National Women Leader to Cross River State and also appreciate the Cross River State Chapter of APC for arriving at Dr Mrs Betta Edu as the Consensus Candidate for the Position.


In her Words, Dr Mrs Betta Edu is a Young and Pragmatic Woman who is always ready to give her Best in what ever Assignment she is given in and outside her State. She has always shown Seriousness and Sagacity and she is very Competent for the Position of the Party's National Women Leader and she would make us Proud.


Also Speaking, the National Secretary of the Organization Mrs Edidiong Sunday Akpan thanked His Excellency Senator Professor Ben Ayade for giving Dr Mrs Betta Edu a Platform to showcase her Competency, Credence, Popularity and Capacity as Director General of Primary Health Care and Subsequently as Commissioner for Health in Cross River State. She express optimism that Dr Mrs Betta Edu Would make the Women and the entire Party Proud when she emerges and assume Office as National Women Leader of the Party.


In her Vote of thanks, the Cross River State Chapter Coordinator of the Organization Pharmacist Gloria Etim Bassey thanked the National Leadership of the Organization for endorsing their daughter as the Best Choice for the National Women Leader of APC. Pharmacist Gloria Etim Bassey who is a NEC member of the Coalition of APC Support Groups in Nigeria Coordinated a Prayer Session for the All Progressives Congress, APC and Dr Mrs Betta Edu..


Highlights of the Meeting was Songs by the Women, Speeches from all the Six States Coordinators, Endorsement of Dr Mrs Betta Edu and adoption of their Mobilization Strategy to canvass for votes for Dr Mrs Betta Edu during the National Convention.


The meeting was well attended by members across the six States of the South South Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria....

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR

  The Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Cross River State, Professor Francisca Bassey, has expressed concern over the gravity of damage of the University's structures recorded in the wake of the rainstorm which swept through Calabar city yesterday, the 7th of May, 2025.  The Acting Vice Chancellor who was represented by the Director of Administration,  Professor Tom Ojikpong, expressed this concern when she led members of the University's management team on an on-the-spot inspection of the affected buildings in Calabar campus of the University.
