He maintained that Asuquo as a Finance Commissioner has related so well with the House of Assembly and could be a perfect bridge builder to perfect the project Cross River.

"I have seen you, you have the depth of knowledge of project Cross River, for us as a state, and for me and members, this is the real project Cross River.

Also Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, leader of the House of Assembly while eulogizing Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr. took turns to say this is the man that knows where every penny has come from and everywhere, the industries are located and he Is the one that will come on board to make it work.

" Crossriverians need to know you more and your potential, and I'm sure if we make known your potential to Cross Riverians, no candidate will match you in the forthcoming elections.

Earlier, Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong had consulted the lawmakers and presented himself to fly the flag of the party for Gubernatorial Election.

Addressing the lawmakers the former commissioner of finance said on the 27th of November 2015 he was sworn in as the commissioner of finance, and that was when his sojourns in public service began.

He added that in the electorate 2% are political actors, 98% of the electorate are not politicians, they are the quiet and silent majority, we the 2% are the noisy majority, it seems we are more important but is the people and I thought it more important to go out and engage with them.

" Over 10 days, I took a time out to transverse the length and breadth of Cross River State and I discovered APC has a bigfooting in the state.

"The mobilization was massive, in some Local governments more than 7000 Youth, women, traditional leaders, party men, and security were all seen.

" The focus of our message was very deliberate to sensitize the people on voter registration. I want to thank every member of the House for the assistance.

"Throughout my tour, I saw investment, that has been carried out by the previous 3 administrations under this fourth republic, we have been led by Donald Duke, Liyel Imoke, and presently His Excellency Prof. Ben Ayade, they all have been builders.

" Ayade has built an economy for the state and all we need now is an astute manager of resources to leverage the investment in the interest of the State.

He concluded that"He had built several successful businesses in the private sector, he had lectured for 3years and having garnered valuable experience working in the public sector as commissioner for finance, he is equipped to serve the State.

"I believe in this state and the party as a binding force and vehicle, I need your immense support to fly the flag of our dear party.
