Dr. Ekpenyong Salutes Professor Esu on his 71st Birthday, Describe Him as a Great Father And Mentor

 


The Director-General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Janet Ekpenyong has congratulated the State Deputy Governor, Professor Ivara Esu on the occasion of his 71st birthday, describing him as a "Great Father and Mentor "


Dr. Ekpenyong who spoke in Calabar earlier on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022 described the erudite scholar turned politician as a bridge linking the older and the younger generation on whose intellectual sanctuary rests the ever desirable growth and development the state and nation desire.


She emphasized the Professor's contributions to the state health sector with notable results-oriented contributions which earned the title and role of the "Father of Immunization".


She prayed to God for His continuous blessings and abundant bestowal of all favorable gifts as she wished him to sound health and cognitive disposition to issues of life.


"Year after year, life presents us with the opportunity to celebrate a widely traveled and well-learned personality whose exemplary lifestyle is beyond the political cycle as we have been privileged to enjoy his wealth of wisdom all these years.


Many years after you were appointed as commissioner, minister, and served as Vice Chancellor in the University of Calabar, your value keeps going higher like a fine wine refined under a cultured process.


You have remained dedicated to state and nation and your impact on the state particularly the health sector is legendary as you have contributed among other things to the actualization of "a polio-free state" which advanced the nation's certification as a polio-free country.


You have also supported us in other Immunization services as well as other maternal and child benefiting programs with distinctive roles results not just as a state Executive but as a father, mentor, and elder statesman.


Today, on behalf of the health sector, I wish you a happy and prosperous Birthday and many years to live a fruitful and healthy life".
