GROUP WOOS SUPPORT FOR PETER OBI’S PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRATION IN CALABAR

 



The Peter Obi Candidacy Movement, Cross River State Chapter, at the weekend, staged a rally to garner support for the frontline Presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Peter Obi in the ancient City of Calabar.


Speaking at the event, the Cross River State Coordinator for the Peter Obi Candidacy Movement, Dr (Mrs.) Hannah Etta said "we are here today to have a one million man march for Mr. Peter Obi, to sensitized Nigerians and most especially the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Delegates that he is the best choice for the country at this time.


"Presently, Nigeria as a country needs rehabilitation and is only a man of Peter Obi’s ilk can salvage our country."


Dr. Hannah pointed out that "this is not only happening in Cross River State. It is simultaneously going on in the 36 States of Nigeria and our expectations at the end of the day is that the PDP Delegates will choose him as the most preferred candidate to be the party flag bearer."


In her remarks, the South-South Zonal Coordinator for Peter Obi Candidacy Movement, Mrs. Anastasia Asuquo said the one million man march for Peter Obi is to create an awareness and sensitize Nigerians that God has given us a helper in Peter Obi - one who will rescue the nation from socio-economic doldrums.


“With Peter Obi, we will experience a great improvement in every sector of our national life; changing our mentality from the sharing formula to the production formula as well as creating employment for our youths."


The one million man march had a walk from the Millennium Park through IBB-Way, Rabana Roundabout, Marian Road, Mary Slessor Roundabout, terminating at the PDP State Secretariat, Calabar.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR

  The Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Cross River State, Professor Francisca Bassey, has expressed concern over the gravity of damage of the University's structures recorded in the wake of the rainstorm which swept through Calabar city yesterday, the 7th of May, 2025.  The Acting Vice Chancellor who was represented by the Director of Administration,  Professor Tom Ojikpong, expressed this concern when she led members of the University's management team on an on-the-spot inspection of the affected buildings in Calabar campus of the University.
