Ikom APC stakeholders endorse Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong for House of Reps, says he is the only option

 


Stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress in Ikom local government area of Cross River have endorsed Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong ahead of the 2023 primaries for the Ikom/Boki federal constituency election.


Hon. Bisong, who is representing Boki 2 State Constituency in the Cross River House of Assembly was endorsed by the stakeholders when he consulted them in Ikom to formally intimate them of his aspiration to contested for the federal seat.


Speaking, a former Council Chairman of Ikom and former Managing Director of Tinapa hotel, Hon. Ayiba Ojong, said that Hon. Bisong is a product that is marketable to the people of Ikom because he is young, accessible and vibrant.


Hon. Ayiba, who is the Coordinator of Hilary’s campaign organization in Ikom, said that “Hilary is our first option, we don’t have a second option. He needs no advert, he is a product that has the quality to market itself”.


“Hilary is the leading aspirant for Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency, we have taken our stand,” he said.


Similarly, Hon. Elvert Ayambem, the member representing Ikom 2 in the state house of assembly, said that Hon. Bisong is one of the members he had admired, even before he went to the assembly.


He described Bisong as a man in search for more knowledge at all times, adding that he has mastered the keys of legislation which guarantee him the rightful place to be in the green chambers.


“Today, we the people of Ikom have decided that we will support the Boki nation for House of Reps because we stand for equity, fairness and justice.


“Let the Boki people do us a favour by stepping down for Hon. Bisong because of his capacity, young age, legislative experience, resourcefulness, accessibility and good character.


“For me as a person, I will support my brother who is my colleague in the House of Assembly for the coveted position of House of Reps.


“When we take you high up there, do not discard us, see us as brothers and one family; go there and make us shine,” he said.


Also speaking, Amb. Ayang Ayang, DG of Rural Urban Development Authority, said that Hon. Bisong can be trusted with power, hence the need for all constituents in Ikom/Boki to support his aspiration.


“Hilary Bisong is good to go; at this point, we have no option than to support him,” he maintained.


While supporting their position, Surv. Mfa Erim Egodo, Special Adviser on Power to Gov. Ben Ayade, said that the lawmaker has performed well and he needs the support of all Ikom people to succeed.


In his remarks, Hon. Abubakar Ewa, former council chairman of Boki LGA and Chief Coordinator of the campaign organization, who was also in attendance, said that Hon. Bisong has been consistent in playing politics with the people.


According to him, Bisong is a humble personality who went into the House of Assembly at a young age in 2015.


He said that Hilary believes in team work, transparency and humility.


“I have come here today to hand over my political son to you; I can assure you that he is going to emerge as the next House of Reps member, he is the best, age is on his side.


“Hilary Bisong has 75 percent of Boki delegates; he will win Boki and Ikom,” he said.


Responding, the ranking lawmaker said it was time to create a new legislative chat for the people of Ikom/Boki, adding that Ikom/Boki is the nexus of Central politics.


He promised to render an effective representation that will benefit the people of the constituency. 


If elected, he promised to hold regularly quarterly town hall meetings, youth and women empowerment, job creation, establish Ikom/Boki mass transit, capacity building, and others.


He urged them to partner with him by weighing their support behind his aspiration for the good, development and growth of the federal constituency.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr.
