Yala 11 State Constituency APC Primary:" Beguile The Times To Reinvigorate Representation" Ukelle Stakeholders Urge Delegates ...Endorse Asegem For APC Ticket

The aspiration of Ambassador Emmanuel Asegem to fly All Progressives Congress flag in 2023 got a massive boost yesterday following an endorsement by critical stakeholders of the party drawn from the six wards of Ukelle.

This came on the heels of  purchase of APC expression of intent and nomination form yesterday at the party's secretariat in Calabar.

Presenting the intent and nomination form to the stakeholders comprising caucus members of the party in the mould of Hon Daniel Ugbama and Hon Ogana Lukpata who represented Ukelle at the Cross River State House of Assembly.Others at the meeting convened in Calabar included Hon Dennis Egere, Chief Dr Igelle Ekpe, Pastor Paul Usang and several youths.

The rave of the moment, Ambassador Asegem Emmanuel, reiterated his poise as the ideal messenger Ukelle needs in times like this just as he maintained that INEC innovation during the by-election has placed the people as key deciders during election.

Expressing overwhelming confidence in the ability of the party to ensure a level playing ground for Ukelle to have a candidate of the party that truly represents the people's will.Stakeholders emphasized that courting support from the grassroots remains his selling point thus far.

According to them, it gives constituents opportunity to propagate a candidate that would pursue active and virile representation in view of different conflicts plaguing Ukelle both internally and externally having seen recurring boundary disputes in Benue and some parts of Ebonyi States in recent times.

Collectively, they unanimously endorsed Asegem because he possesses rare qualities such as courage and resillience to put Ukelle first on the radar because he lives, dines  and understands the challenges of the people.

Speaking at the event, a cross section of stakeholders  emphasized that the times are not favourable for a woman to continue to represent the constituency  as a result of huge  deficits in representation and disconnect with the problems plaguing Ukelle as a people.

Taking turns to extol the uniqueness of Ambassador Asegem whom they identified as the only aspirant in the APC that can withstand the "robust contest of 2023", Rt Hon Ogana Lukpata,Rt Hon Daniel Ugbama, Chief Dr Igelle Ekpe,Hon Dennis Egere scored him very high because of his ability to sustain mutual relationship with constituents so as to increase the prospects of Ukelle in the polity in line with the progressive ideology of All Progressives Congress.

In complete accord, they opined that, " the people of Ukelle are now conscious of what is right by harnessing the possibility of ensuring a popular candidate in a Bi Modal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) era.

" We need a candidate with a progressive mindset like Asegem to lay a foundation for progressive engagement that would have positive effect on Yala 11 State Constituency".

Describing Asegem as a man who has touched lives, Timothy Ekpe averred that, "leaders are able to sustain power on the basis of their ability to satisfy public need. Asegem has touched lives even when he is not occupying any elective office"

In one mind, aspirants under the platform of All Progressives Congress; Comrade Ada Solomon Igbang from Wanokom Ward  and Alegu Solomon Ugboko from Ijiraga Ward concede to Asegem Emmanuel by declaring "total and unflinching support for the man with the brightest chance of winning Ukelle for All Progressives Congress" in tandem with stakeholders' endorsement
