CR SDOI Congratulates CP Ochalla on new rank

 



The Cross River State Director of Information, Mrs. Roseline Irek has congratulated the newly decorated Commissioner of Police CP Margaret Ochalla on her new feat. 

Recall that the Police Service Commission had announced the promotion of Ochalla, a Crossriverian from Yache nation, and 39 others to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CP). This was made known in a statement by the PSC Head of, the Press, and Public Relations Unit, Ikechukwu Ani.

Irek noted that the decoration was done by Mr. Afam Orakposim (her husband) and the DIG (Admin) and the decoration ceremony was witnessed by her kinsmen, friends, and Crossriverians.



Director described the new Commissioner of Police as a highly committed and dogged officer who performed her task with a high sense of honesty kindness and humility.

She went further to state the new CP's achievements as Force Gender Coordinator to include:

- Establishment of Uniform Specialized Police Units and Inclusion of the Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures in the Force Order and Police Training Curriculum in Police Schools and Colleges.

-Re-activation of online reporting platform (www.fciidgender.net) for reporting of 

SGBV and all related cases.

- Establishment of Police Gender Desks across all Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria.

- Construction and operationalization of the Specialized Children Police Unit in Maitama 

Area Command, Abuja being the first of its kind in Nigeria.

-Establishment of a Gender Lab for analysis of cases including online reported gender 

related matters.

-Written a book titled: “Understanding Child and Gender Protection for a Better Society”.

The Information Director concluded by listing the awards of the New CP to include;

- Africa Women Leadership award received in South Africa and presented by His Excellency John Mahama, former President of Ghana,

- "Improving Access to Justice Award" awarded by the office of the Vice President of Federal Republic of Nigeria and presented by the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo, SAN.

- National Security Award for Excellent Performance and Exemplary Leadership by the Federal Republic of Nigeria Senate Committee on Police Affairs and Outstanding and Invaluable Service to the Nigerian Police and mankind as a ‘’Season Corp’’ presented by Competent Governance for Accountability and Civic Trust.

- Ambassadorial Award as a Global Advocate on Gender Affairs presented by Global Gender Safety and Moral Development.

- Prestigious Female Humanitarian of the Year awarded by prestigious Hall of Fame.

- Global Women Hall of Fame 2017 (CELD) presented by the Sheik of Dubai.


Irek added, "I want to urge her to take her new promotion as a challenge to do more for the country and the world at large"...
