The Truth About Politics and Consistency

Politics is a game of interest.  That is, we all can never be on the same page at all times.  The same people in APC today,  hoping to benefit or gain a mandate from the party in time past had ridiculed APC and called APC members names in Cross River State and beyond. The same APC some people had toiled to build from their resources. But when the table turns, the same persons who have benefited will speak ill about the party and leaders respectively.

Hence, we need to be very careful with how we handle political issues. Many have worked for parties in the past and gained nothing. Having your kinsman in government does not mean you will be remembered. The best any man can do is to have a life.

If politics favors you today, it may fall against you tomorrow. The candidates our parties have presented to us to vote for, do not necessarily mean they are best for our LGA, and State or Nation at this time.

Many did not scale through the primaries. But some of them if given the chance may even have been the Messiah we seek for our Local Government Areas and States. They would have favored us more than those we placed our hopes on.

Go history lane and you will understand that politics has always and will always be all about interest. No one loves APC or PDP more than another. All is hustling for stomach or personal infrastructure.

Let us learn from the history of Cross River State. H.E Liyel Imoke in his words retired Prince Bassey  Otu. Since then he (Prince Otu)  had contested for various positions and did not make it. How many of you (I mean sycophants) had the love to stand with him when he was failing elections? They were all enjoying PDP. But today they have all gathered to make it look like they love Prince Otu more than any other person.

As Prince and others have become the new brides today after many years of relegation. That means, it can favor another person tomorrow. We must not destroy the ladder after getting to the top. We may still need it tomorrow.

Let all eyes be open, no one knows tomorrow. Don't write any man off, for You are not God.
