Ogoja Agog As APC Kicks Off Campaign. Prince Otu Unveils ‘The People-First Manifesto

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC today kicked off it’s campaign for the 2023 general elections at the Ogoja township stadium.
The event witnessed an unprecedented crowd as residents welcomed the governorship hopeful with so much energy. Speaking at the event, Governorship candidate of the party, Ntufam (Prince) Bassey Otu said he was excited to be in Ogoja. “ I am a true Ogoja son. I lived and grew up here,i also went to school here” he said. The frontline gubernatorial Candidate who used the opportunity to unveil his manifesto titled, ‘People-First Manifesto' said "the last time I came here was to thank you for electing me as the APC flagbearer for our dear State. "While I was here, we had some discussions and I took note of everything you said. Today, I have returned with a solution to those issues you raised and I have put them into a document that represents our manifesto. And we will follow it to the later to ensure its implementation. That is why, it is called The People-First Manifesto” The governorship hopeful, flanked by his youthful deputy governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey solicited for their total support, pledging never to fail them. The colourful occasion which was witnessed by a massive crowd who came out to receive him, also featured the defection of prominent PDP leaders, led by Barr. Emmanuel Lifu who left the opposition PDP with thousands of his followers to join the APC. Chronicling the event, the Executive Governor of Cross River State and the Senatorial hopefull of the Northern Senatorial District, His excellency Sen.Prof. Ben Ayade admonished the People of Ogoja to stand By zoning emphazising that it is rightfully and truly the turn of the South and as usual the north should Vote one direction to sustain her Unity as District.He concluded By stating unequivocally that Cross River had never played opposition and therefore cannot start now.the Digital Governor moved a motion for the endorsement of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Sen (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu and all State and National Assembly Candidates in which there was thunderous response from the mammoth crowd in afirmation showing their readiness to Vote APC from top to bottom.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. During the meeting, Engr. Egbe emphasized the importance of safeguarding all critical public infrastructure and ensuring close collaboration between the Ministry of Public Utilities and the NSCDC in achieving the Governor’s vision for a sustainable and secure state. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR

  The Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Cross River State, Professor Francisca Bassey, has expressed concern over the gravity of damage of the University's structures recorded in the wake of the rainstorm which swept through Calabar city yesterday, the 7th of May, 2025.  The Acting Vice Chancellor who was represented by the Director of Administration,  Professor Tom Ojikpong, expressed this concern when she led members of the University's management team on an on-the-spot inspection of the affected buildings in Calabar campus of the University.
