Former Presidential Aide, Prince Ebuta Ayuk Accuses Former AIG Joseph Mbu Of Harassment, Intimidation

Fomer aide to late Presidential Umaru Ya’adua, Prince Ebuta Ayuk has accused a former Assistant Inspector General of Police, Joseph Mbu of intimidation and harassment of Etung people during the last presidential and national assembly election.
Prince Ebuta Ayuk said this when he received in audience, the APC governorship candidate, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, at his Ikom residence.
In his words, “during the last presidential and National Assembly elections here in Etung, security was our main problem. We had a situation were a former AIG of police, Joseph Mbu, whose mates are in Abuja trying to contribute to national development, was here in the village, becoming a nuisance and intimidating his own people for selfish interest. He imported strange police men with all manners of weapons to frustrate the people and intimidate voters. But thank God that even in the face of all the intimidations, we still won Etung and Abia community with a very wide margin. That was possible because the will of the people was stronger than that of a single selfish individual “
The former Presidential aide then requested the government to immediately call Mr. Mbu to order.
Responding, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu noted the contribution and importance of the Etung people to state development and assured them of his commitment to protect Cross Riverians from all forms of intimidation. “by the grace of God, when we get into office, we will ensure that the right of everyone is protected. Nobody will be above the law and if any one acts outside the law, he will have to pay for it, no matter how highly placed such a person is”
Sen. Otu then encouraged them to go out and vote for the APC during the election on Saturday.
AIG Joseph Mbu has continued to negatively occupy the media space since his unceremonious compulsory retirement from the police force.
Recently, he was charged by the Cross River State government for the murder of an indigene of Etung LGA but nothing is heard of the case till date. Mr. Mbu who has been notorious by indigenes of the state for intimidation, harassment and violation of the rights of the people in Etung, was recently fingered in the attack of a Special Adviser to governor Ben Ayade, Mr. Oscar Ofuka by hired thugs.
