On Wednesday, May 31, CODE 888, the largest political group, will roll out the drums to celebrate one of its own, the Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade and 20 other Crossriverians.
The event is going to be a splendid reception for those that stood for Back-to-South Campaign and supported it to the end.
According to the DG, CODE 888 Engr. Maurice Nkong the occasion is a thank you event and the demonstration of Equity, fairness and justice by those that stood for back to South Agenda.
At the press briefing on Tuesday 16th May 2023, DG disclosed that a letter notifying Governor Ayade will be sent to him and 20 other nominees across the 18 local governments of Cross River State.
According to Nkong, the nomination of Governor Ayade and 20 other people was in recognition of their stand, outstanding contributions to the power rotation and their invaluable leadership dispositions to support the Back-to-South Agenda to the End.
DG added that some did Back to the south at night but say Central in the morning while they were some that did back to the support because of their gain since it was not favourable to them, they went back to support Central and failed.
According to the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee Mr. Great Ogban the event will be a colourful event, we are known for excellence and I like DG has said 31st of May, at Transcorp by 5 pm we will be celebrating a culture that works. The culture that produces peaceful coexistence in Cross River State.
"The peace we are enjoying as a people is because of power rotation, so it is good to the amplified what is good so that our young people who are growing will know this is a culture that works and produce peace and tranquillity in our dear state.

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.
