His Excellency, the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu says, he will partner with Peace Corps of Nigeria on areas necessary in the State.
The Governor said this when the State Commandant of the Corps, Patriot (Dr.) Okweche, Dominic Odey pay him a courtesy visit to Congratulate him on his inauguration as the 16th Governor of the State.
The Governor expressed happiness in meeting with the Commandant and his entourage again. He said the extent the Peace Corps Officers have gone in discharging their duties in the State is a good reason to encourage them.
Speaking, Commandant Okweche thanked the Governor for the audience granted him and his Men. He told the Governor that the people of the State voted for him overwhelmingly because of what he represents. "Sir, you have done so well for your people. The impacts of your leadership dexterity and sagacity were displayed in your previous offices as lives were touched positively which is still fresh in the minds of many".
The Commandant assured the Governor of the Peace Corps' readiness to support the Government in all aspects.
Highlights of the visit was the presentation of a Congratulatory card to His Excellency by the Peace Corps.
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.
