2023 Int'l Youth Day: C'River NYCN State Chairman Directs International Youth Week be Celebrated across 18 LGAs simultaneously

 


The Youth Council of Nigeria Cross River State chapter has urged Cross River State youths to be ready to celebrate international youth day in their various local government area to engage, create values, and relate with youths at all levels to meet the demands of the current generation, Green Skills.


The  Chairman of NYCN, His Youthfulness Comrade Daniel Obo, made the call in his message to the youths on the forthcoming 2023 International Youth Day Celebration, on Tuesday in Calabar.


The Detailing News of Nigeria (DNN) reports that Aug.12 of every year is a day set aside to celebrate youths worldwide with a focus on issues affecting their well-being.


The theme of this year’s international youth day celebration is,” Green Skills for Youth: towards a Sustainable World.” today the world is embarking on a green transition.


Daniel, therefore, noted that all stakeholders and activists to go to their local government areas and support their council youth coordinators to come up with programs that seek to empower the youths, address issues peculiar to their environment, and give young people a sense of belonging.


He enjoined Cross River State youths to take advantage of the Green skills to become self-employed and offer opportunities to others.


Daniel also added that youths should avoid cultism, criminal activities, truancy, excessive intake of alcohol, smoking, and other acts capable of destroying their future while pleading with local institutions to address issues of excessive intake of drugs. 


On the forthcoming 2023 International youth day, he urged every state executive/activist to go home and support the locals, noting that " we are not a political organization or a anti-social youth organization but we are a youth organization with the authority to speak for the young people".


He called on youth coordinators to mobilize across the nooks and crannies of their local to ensure the day is well celebrated. 


Daniel concluded that the youths should be calm, support the government, and always be sure that the leadership of the youth is available to intervene when necessary as far as it adds value to young people.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR
