Engr. Faith Edu Inaugurated 4th APWEN Chairman, Promises Innovations

The Association Of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria(APWEN) Calabar Chapter, has held her Public Lecture/Inauguration of New Excos at the Calabar Engineering Centre, Parliamentary Extension Calabar, with Engr. Faith Edu, MNSE sworn into office as the 4th Chairman of the Association by the National Vice-President and President-Elect of the Association  Engr. Dr. Adebisi Osim, FNSE. 



Engr Faith Edu who was the past Vice Chairman of the  Association is to oversee the running of the Association's activities as the Chairman for the next two years.  



Engr Faith who spoke on the importance of believing in one's self also appreciated the Association Of Professional Women Engineers In Nigeria(APWEN) Calabar chapter, for finding her worthy to become the 4th Chairman of the  Association. Also acknowledging both the senior Engineers and Collegiates present at the event, the Chairman has promised to put her best foot forward to aid the continuous growth of the Association. She also said she has activities planned for pupils/students in Primary and Secondary Schools to light up and encourage their interest in STEM-related subjects while also organizing mentorship programs for the Collegiates in UNICROSS and UNICAL to prepare them for life after graduation.



Speaking at the Public  Lecture organised by the Association as part of the inaugural event tagged: Electronic Solutions For Artificial Intelligence Healthcare In Nigeria, Engr Gertrude Fischer, emphasized the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Nigerian healthcare system.  Engr. Gertrude also noted that the use of AI in the Nigerian health sector will facilitate the long-awaited growth the country has waited for in the health sector as well as boost the general economic growth of the country. 

 


Present at the event was the Chairman Nigerian Society of Engineers(NSE) Calabar Branch,  Engr. Dr. Desmond Ewa, alongside other senior Engineers at the State and National.  



The event also featured the inauguration of new APWEN executives in the state Chapter as well as the inauguration of new excos to oversee the affairs of the UNICROSS Collegiates wing.
