I will do My Best to take Peace Corps to its Pride of place in Cross River--FORESTRY COMMISSION CHAIRMAN


The Cross River State Commandant of Peace Corps of Nigeria, Patriot (Dr.) Okweche, Dominic Odey paid a courtesy visit on Dr. George O'ben Etchi,  Chairman, Forestry Commission in the State on January, 18th 2024. 


The State Commandant told the Chairman that his visit was to congratulate him on his well deserved appointment which he said is a perfect sort for by the Governor to revamp the Commission that has almost gone moribund. Dr. Okweche said the Chairman have been a friend of the Corps and had championed several activities in favour of the organization over the years. Such genuine gesture, the Commandant said is rare and worth commending. 


Dr. Okweche further informed the Chairman of the readiness of the  Corps to function optimally in areas deemed fit by the Commission. 


Responding, the Commission's Chairman, Dr. George O'ben Etchi appreciated the Commandant and his team for being dutiful as seen in their proactive activities across the State over time. He said the Officers of the Corps over the years have conducted themselves in a way and manner that every good Nigerian with good intent  will be disposed to encourage and support their activities. 


The Chairman commended the Commandant and the Corps for the huge support for *His Excellency, the Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu* during the last general elections. The Corps's efforts cannot be forgotten by His Excellency. "I'm telling you that if the government has not reached out to your organization, they will definitely do because your efforts were visible, he added"


Dr. George further said that, he will do his best to take Peace Corps to its pride of place in the State. Lastly,  he promised to partner with the Corps on areas that will be of great benefit to  the Commission and the Corps.


Highlight of the event was a presentation of a congratulatory card by the Organization to the Commission's Chairman.

BREAKING NEWS: Youths of Ikot Ansa Nab Vandals Destroying Public Utilities, Hand Over to Authorities for Prosecution

  In a combined effort to curb the rampant vandalism of public utilities in Cross River State, the youth leader of Ikot Ansa, Prince, Victor Otu Iso JR, alongside his community, successfully apprehended criminals involved in the destruction of vital public infrastructure. The vandals were caught red-handed this morning, 13th day of September 2024, as they attempted to steal Amor cables belonging to state transformers at Ekpo Iso. Engr. Egbe Commends Governor Otu for Flag-Off of Subsidized Mini Tractors Distribution

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr.
