Peace Transport Company Clashes with Cross River Taskforce During Statewide Sanitation; Faces Sanctions


In a dramatic turn of events during the statewide Sanitation exercise in Calabar, Peace Transport Company found themselves embroiled in a clash with the Cross River Sanitation taskforce. The confrontation arose when the Taskforce attempted to enforce sanitation regulations, leading to a heated altercation between the two parties. 


Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos as tensions escalated, with both sides refusing to back down until the intervention of the Commissioner of Environment Hon. Moses Osogi



According to the Commissioner, the failure of Peace Transport Company to comply with the State sanitation exercise poses a significant risk to public health and environmental sustainability. The government views such non-compliance with established regulations. 



"Peace Transport Company will face sanctions for their involvement in the altercation. The exact nature of the sanctions has yet to be disclosed, but it is expected to serve as a deterrent against future confrontation during sanitation exercise in the state". 


"You all saw what happened at the place, this serves as a reminder of the challenges faced in maintaining order during large operations. I ask for cooperation between public and private entities during and after our exercise. 


Hon. Osogi further stated that efforts are underway to ensure that Peace Transport Company and other non-compliant entities are held accountable for their actions, with penalties and sanctions being considered to deter future violations. 


He concluded by urging citizens to support the government's initiatives aimed at promoting sanitation and environmental sustainability, as collective actions is crucial in achieving a cleaner and healthier State.
