Senator Eteng Williams' Inaugural Free Medical Outreach a Resounding Success


Senator Eteng Williams, in collaboration with the Cross River State Ministry of Health, spearheaded a monumental free medical outreach, marking his inaugural edition in the humanitarian arena. The event witnessed an unprecedented surge of individuals seeking medical evaluations, screenings, health enlightenment, interventions, and complimentary surgeries.


The mega outreach transcended expectations, extending vital healthcare services to a staggering 10,126 individuals, with notable highlights as follows:


Registered Patients: A total of 10,289 individuals enrolled for medical consultations, surgical interventions, and deworming procedures for children under 5 years old.


Medical Consultations: An impressive 10,126 patients received medical attention and consultations.


Deworming Efforts: Dedicated efforts led to the deworming of 1,028 children under 5 years old.


Medications Dispensed: Various medications including antimalarials, antidiabetics, antifungals, antibiotics, haematinics, antihypertensives, analgesics, immune boosters, and supplements were dispensed to beneficiaries.


Surgical Milestones: A total of 256 surgeries were scheduled, out of which 235 were successfully performed, showcasing the commitment to restoring health and well-being.


Health Education Initiatives: Continuous health education sessions were conducted throughout the 6-day outreach, empowering individuals with essential knowledge for sustainable health practices.


Referrals: 21 surgical cases were referred for further specialized care, ensuring comprehensive healthcare delivery.


The resounding success of this impactful program has been echoed through commendable testimonials from beneficiaries, families, facilitators, and organizers, underscoring the absence of reported complications or mortality—a testament to meticulous planning and execution.


Looking ahead, key recommendations have been proposed for future endeavors, including the integration of eye services with the provision of free glasses, the addition of pediatric surgeons to cater to children's unique needs, regular health education on disease prevention and control, and enhanced publicity efforts with one-month advance notification.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements.
