Official Statement Regarding False Reports on Hon. Cyril James Omini



It has come to our attention that certain misleading and false reports have been circulating, suggesting that Hon. Cyril James Omini, Member of the Cross River State House of Assembly representing Yakurr 1 Constituency, has been nominated as the new Speaker following the recent impeachment of the previous Speaker. We would like to take this opportunity to clarify and assert that these rumors are entirely baseless and devoid of any truth.


We strongly condemn the dissemination of misinformation that can confuse and mislead the public. While we understand that the public has a right to be informed, it is crucial to remember the importance of waiting for official reports before publicizing or sharing unverified stories.
