Edem Darlington Appoints Ambassadors to Propel 'Think Cross River' Initiative at Calabar Ceremony

 



The Think Cross River initiative of the Cross River State Government has appointed Friday Awade (Last Prophet), MC Daiok, Fada Kane, and Chaliebaz as Ambassadors for its project. The unveiling ceremony took place on June 12, 2024, at zero Arena  in Calabar, the state capital, and was attended by various media personalities.


Edem Darlington, the project's convener and Deputy Chief Secretary to the governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, explained to the press that the initiative aims to raise awareness about the state's potential and inspire action to restore its former glory.


Darlington emphasized, “The Think Cross River Project encourages all Cross Riverians and residents to actively contribute to the state's development, not just through words but through tangible actions.”


“Cross River is endowed with numerous potentials and resources, and it is time we collaborate with the government to reclaim our lost glory,” he added.


The newly appointed ambassadors expressed their gratitude to the convener and the state government, pledging their commitment to the success of the initiative, which they strongly believe in.


The Think Cross River Initiative was launched by His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, on May 29, 2024, in celebration of his first year in office. The initiative aims to promote Cross River State and support the ongoing transformation and good governance under his leadership.


Notable attendees at the unveiling included the Special Adviser to the Governor on Event Management, Mr. Effiong Ekpenyong, Special Adviser on General Duties, Barr. Ekpeyong Akiba, and Special Assistant on Communication, Nathaniel Otaba, among others.
