Mass Communication Alumni: Class of 2006-2010, Donate Public Address System, Lecterns to Unicross Mass Communication Department


The Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) Mass Communication Alumni, Class of 2006-2010, have donated a Public Address System and two lecterns to the Department of Mass Communication. 



This philanthropic act underscores the alumni’s dedication to enhancing educational resources and supporting the development of the institution that played a pivotal role in their formative years.


The donation ceremony took place on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the office of the Head of the Department of Mass Communication. 


During the event, Mr. Usani Ebri Omini, President of the 2006-2010 Alumni Association, expressed the collective sentiment of his peers. "Our time in the department was transformative, and although we lost some colleagues along the way, those experiences shaped who we are today," he said. "We are a young association, but today marks the beginning of our journey to give back. We are committed to supporting the Mass Communication Department continuously."



Mr. Omini reflected on the significant growth and development witnessed at CRUTECH over the years. He emphasized the alumni’s pride in the university's advancements and their unwavering support for the ongoing unbundling and expansion within the faculty.


The Vice President, Lady Salome Okon,  officially presented the equipment on behalf of the alumni.


The head of the Department of Mass Communication, Dr. John Ukam,  graciously received the items, expressing profound gratitude. "These donations will significantly enhance our teaching and learning processes," he remarked. "Your gesture is not only commendable but also sets a precedent for others to follow."



Dr. Ukam invoked the wisdom of Prof. Enendu, noting, "Good things are packed in small cartons. You have pioneered this initiative, and we hope to see more contributions from your set." He also encouraged the alumni to strive for greater intellectual contributions, quoting the philosopher Francis Roger, "Knowledge is power," and reiterating that "readers are leaders."


Dr. Peace Egbai, in her vote of thanks, assured the department of continued support from the alumni. 


The event concluded with a presentation of the items and a reception hosted by the department.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR
