NSIYAN OGAR OKEY (DUBEST): A PROVEN LEADER FOR THE PEACE , PROGRESS AND GROWTH OF OBUBRA LGA

Nsiyan Ogar Okey, popularly known as Dubest, has always been there for the people of Obubra LGA. During the communal crisis between Edodon and Ohumurutet, he not only stepped up but also personally rescued captives, an act that nearly cost him his life. His bravery was evident as he sustained severe injuries and had his vehicle damaged by warriors in the process.

In the peace process between Onyadma and Nko, Dubest led the delegation at the request of the state security adviser. Thanks to his dedication, peace has returned to the region, allowing residents to sleep peacefully and move freely on the roads that was once hazardous to motorists.

Moreover, Dubest played a pivotal role in initiating peace talks between Ofatura and Ovonum. He personally visited both communities, delivering relief materials, including bags of rice and financial aid, to those affected by the conflict. During the communal crisis between Alisi and Odongit, Dubest was leading from the front. Initiating peace process and involving the security agencies to forestall peace. No wonder he is today, the coordinator of surveillance in central.

When it came to supporting the education sector, Dubest made an enormous impact. He initiated a scholarship scheme that benefited over 50 students in tertiary institutions and more than 100 students in primary and secondary schools across Obubra LGA. During the prolonged ASUU strike, which caused immense hardship for lecturers, Dubest extended financial support to the LGA lecturers. His efforts were praised by the Obubra LGA union of lecturers for this thoughtful intervention.

Through his philanthropic endeavors, Dubest has empowered many within the LGA by providing entrepreneurial training, start-up grants, and essential equipment. He has also supported individuals through donations of motorcycles, shops, and various resources to aid new business ventures. His support to the farmers, churches etc., can not equally be forgotten. Across the LGA and the state at large, Dubest magnanimity rings a bell.

Beyond these substantial efforts, Dubest has always been present for his people, whether in hospitals, during weddings, or at funerals. His constant availability has earned him the moniker “The Available Chairman” or “Chairman Wey No Hard to See.”

Nsiyan Ogar Okey (Dubest) has also proven himself as a steadfast supporter of His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu. During the APC campaigns, Dubest took significant initiative by personally funding and mounting multiple billboards across Obubra LGA. He also singlehandedly printed campaign shirts and caps for leaders in Obubra, further energizing the APC cause. He was the coordinator of Prince Otu Advocate, leading six LGAs in central, creating awareness on the need to support Sen. Prince Otu as governor. His financial support extended to numerous campaign support groups, ensuring they had the resources needed to succeed. Dubest mobilized many individuals to attend campaign events and played a crucial role in securing all polling units in the Iyamoyong community for the APC. This dedication and hands-on leadership demonstrate Dubest’s commitment not only to the political cause but also to the well-being of Obubra LGA.

Obubra LGA needs a chairman who has proven to be deeply connected to the people, who understands their challenges, and who has consistently worked to improve their conditions. The LGA deserves a leader like Nsiyan Ogar Okey (Dubest), who won’t be distant or only appear when funds arrive but will always be present, guiding the LGA forward. Dubest has washed his hands clean, and now, he deserves to dine with the elders.

Support Nsiyan Ogar Okey (Dubest) as chairman of Obubra LGA, and together, we will take Obubra to the next level of peace, development, and progress.

We urge the current government to give Obubra LGA the leader they truly deserve to sustain the progress already in place and further lead the LGA towards greater prosperity.

Team Dubest
