Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Honored with THISDAY Young Global Leaders of Commemoration Award

 


In recognition of his outstanding dedication to dynamic leadership, impactful advocacy, and social progress, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, representing the Southern Senatorial District, has been conferred with the prestigious THISDAY Young Global Leaders of Commemoration Award by the esteemed THISDAY Board of Editors. 


This award highlights Ekpenyong’s commitment to elevating Nigeria’s global profile and inspiring transformative change.


Senator Ekpenyong has become a beacon of hope, championing initiatives aimed at youth and women empowerment, educational advancement, economic growth, and cultural preservation. 


His influence transcends national boundaries, as he continuously advocates for Africa’s greatness on the global stage, inspiring emerging changemakers to build a brighter future.


As a distinguished lawmaker and ECOWAS Parliamentarian, Senator Ekpenyong’s voice resonates in the Senate, where he is a strong advocate for development.


His leadership as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) reflects his deep commitment to sustainable progress for his constituents and the nation at large.


Born on August 25, 1985, Senator Ekpenyong has achieved significant milestones in public service and the private sector. 


Before becoming the youngest Senator representing Cross River South, he served as Commissioner for Finance in Cross River State and briefly as Commissioner for Transport and Marine Services.


An accomplished Investment Banker and Financial Analyst, he began his career as a financial analyst in Lagos before moving to Cross River, where he lectured at the University of Calabar’s Department of Banking and Finance. 


He later established Iquasu Ventures Limited, a thriving haulage and logistics company, and took over as Managing Director of Chamley Bureau de Change, licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).


His business acumen led to his appointment as Executive Director for Finance at Pearland Energy, an indigenous oil and gas company, and a board member of Ekondo Microfinance Bank Limited.


Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong’s multifaceted contributions to governance, business, and social impact have rightly earned him this distinguished recognition.
