UNICAL CONVOCATION: Day 6; President Tinubu commissions five projects on campus

 

The visitor to the University of Calabar, HE President Bola Tinubu GCFR, has commissioned five projects in the University of Calabar as part of activities lined up for the 37th convocation ceremony of the institution. 

The President was represented by Prof. Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, Executive Secretary, NUC, Abuja.

The projects were funded by TETFUND and executed by the Golden Vice Chancellor, Prof. Florence Banku Obi and was delivered for use according to specification, standard and duration. 

The projects are;

1. HALL OF FAME 

2. FACULTY OF EDUCATION 

3. ENGINEERING WORKSHOP 

4. PHARMACY 

5. FIRE STATION

While commissioning the projects, the President commended Prof. Obi for making judicious use of the funds allocated to the university for projects, adding that her administration has recorded significant achievements in the area of infrastructural development. He urged the VC to keep up with her good works, saying that she has written her name in the annals of history. 

Responding, the VC thanked Mr President for gracing the convocation, saying that the University of Calabar was pleased to host personalities from across the world for its 50th anniversary. She pledged her administration’s readiness in completing all the ongoing projects before the expiration of her tenure with a view to giving the university a positive outlook.

She assured members of the public that the Fire Service truck would also be on alert to respond to any emergency off campus, as part of the university’s social corporate responsibility to the public.
