Ndibe Bridge: Senator Eteng Williams Receives Hero’s Welcome at Bahumono Town Hall Meeting, Donates N2 Million to Ediba Palace Project

Distinguished Senator Eteng Jonah Williams, representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, was given a rousing reception by the people of Bahumono during a town hall meeting held on Sunday, April 20, 2025, in Ebom community, Abi Local Government Area. The event, organized by the Bahumono Peace and Development Union, offered an opportunity for the people to express their aspirations and appreciation for the Senator’s unwavering commitment to grassroots development.

In a heartfelt address of welcome, community leaders and stakeholders praised Senator Williams for his outstanding service, particularly in critical areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and human capital development. His numerous interventions across these sectors were acknowledged as having significantly uplifted the welfare and living standards of the people.

The Bahumono community specifically commended Senator Williams for his leading role in facilitating the construction of the Ndibe Bridge and Road Project, which they described as a landmark achievement in improving infrastructure and boosting economic activities. They also expressed optimism that ongoing collaborations with the Federal Ministry of Works, led by His Excellency Senator Dave Umahi, would see the realization of additional infrastructure projects, including a proposed 15-kilometer spur to connect Ebom community to the major road network.

During the engagement, the Bahumono people sought the Senator’s assistance in arranging a courtesy visit to the Minister of Works, aimed at strengthening their relationship with the Ministry and advocating for the continued development of their communities.

Further demonstrating his commitment to the region, Senator Williams also met with stakeholders from Ediba community, where he donated the sum of N2 million Naira to support the ongoing construction of a befitting palace for the Ovai Usa of Ediba community. He was received by the regent of the community, Ovai Edward Ejom. He reiterated his dedication to community development, highlighting completed projects such as the solar-powered borehole he facilitated for Ediba, which now provides residents with improved access to clean water.

The events of the day underscored Senator Williams’ strong grassroots connections and his relentless pursuit of progress and better living standards for the people of Cross River Central Senatorial District.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr.
