Rt. Hon. Orok Duke Represents Cross River at Commissioning of NDDC Delta State House in Warri

Rt. Hon. Orok Otu-Duke PhD, the Cross River State Representative on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), joined other board members, management, and dignitaries at the commissioning of the Commission’s new Delta State House in Warri, Delta State.

The event drew notable guests from across the Niger Delta region, including political leaders, traditional rulers, and representatives of key development agencies. It marked a moment of pride and progress for the Commission, as it continues repositioning itself for improved efficiency and grassroots impact.

The newly commissioned Delta State House is a symbol of renewal and institutional strength for the NDDC. Beyond its architectural beauty, the edifice represents a forward step in decentralising operations and bringing development services closer to the people.

Hon. Orok Duke, representing Cross River State on the NDDC Board, expressed delight at the successful completion of the project, describing it as a milestone that reinforces the Commission’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness across the region.

“The Delta State House is more than just an office, it represents the NDDC’s renewed focus on service, accountability, and shared growth,” Duke said. “As a Board, we are determined to ensure that every state, including Cross River, continues to benefit from equitable development and impactful projects.”

He noted that the new complex would not only improve coordination within the state but also strengthen the relationship between the Commission and its host communities, creating a more responsive and efficient NDDC structure.

He also highlighted the Commission’s ongoing local scholarship programme for over 600 sons and daughters of the Niger Delta pursuing master’s degrees, describing it as a key investment in education and human capital development aimed at empowering the region’s youth.

Hon. Duke further commended the leadership of the Commission and the host communities for their cooperation and vision, emphasising that sustainable development in the Niger Delta can only be achieved through partnership, transparency, and shared responsibility.

The Cross River representative reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that align with the Board’s renewed mandate to transform the Niger Delta through infrastructural growth, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance.
