Group Procures APC Nomination Form for Cross River Lawmaker, Commends Constituency-Focused Representation
A sociopolitical group, The People’s Mandate Group, has purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms for Hon. (Obol) Cyril James Omini, member representing Yakurr I State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, citing his proactive and people-oriented representation of the constituency over the past three years.
Speaking on behalf of the group during the presentation of the forms to Hon. Omini at his residence in Ugep on Saturday, Mr. Odum Odum Sunday said the gesture was a reflection of the group’s confidence in the lawmaker’s leadership.
According to the group, the decision to purchase the forms was informed by Hon. Omini’s performance, accessibility, and commitment to the welfare and development of the constituency, as well as its desire to see him continue his legislative duties under the platform of the APC in the interest of the people of Yakurr I and the state at large.
Odum noted that Hon. Omini has distinguished himself through effective representation, grassroots engagement, empowerment initiatives, and dedication to the welfare of his constituents, adding that his track record in the Assembly has earned him unprecedented support across Yakurr I and beyond.
The People’s Mandate Group further stated that the purchase of the nomination forms demonstrates their collective resolve to support credible leadership and sustain ongoing development efforts, including road construction, youth employment, and empowerment programmes, which they said have significantly improved the socioeconomic status of the constituents.
The group also pledged total support for the lawmaker ahead of the forthcoming elections, assuring him of overwhelming votes across the constituency.
Responding, Hon. Omini expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of The People’s Mandate Group for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of love, trust, and confidence in his leadership.
He assured constituents of his continued commitment to quality representation, inclusive governance, and the pursuit of policies that will enhance development in Yakurr I and Cross River State at large if re-elected.
While calling on his constituents to remain supportive of the administration of Governor Bassey Otu and the APC, he urged them to stay united and focused as the political process unfolds, emphasizing the need for peace, cooperation, and sustained engagement in the interest of the constituency.
