The Cross River State representative on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Orok Duke, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress in Ward 11, Calabar South Local Government Area, to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Duke made the appeal during a solidarity and appreciation visit to the ward on May 25, 2026, where party faithful reaffirmed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Cross River State Governor Bassey Edet Otu as APC standard bearers for the 2027 elections.
Addressing party members and stakeholders in Calabar, the NDDC board member commended Ward 11 for its dedication and strong performance during the party primaries.
He described the ward as a major political force in Calabar South, noting that its numerical strength and influence must be consolidated to ensure victory for APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Duke urged party faithful to remain loyal to the party and shun anti-party activities, stressing that members must support all APC candidates regardless of personal differences.
According to him, unity, commitment, and collective responsibility will play a crucial role in the party’s success in 2027.
He also expressed concern over what he described as declining morale among some members and encouraged them to remain active and committed to party affairs.
“The political journey towards 2027 is far from over. Victory can only be secured through sustained commitment, grassroots mobilisation, and active participation at the polls,” he said.
Describing Ward 11 as the political backbone of Calabar South, Duke appreciated members for their continued loyalty and confidence in the leadership of Tinubu and Governor Otu.
As part of the visit, the APC chieftain donated N1.3 million to ward members in appreciation of their support and dedication to the party.
The event also featured goodwill messages from party leaders and stakeholders, including the APC House of Assembly candidate for Calabar South Constituency II, Majorie Asuquo, and Shepherd Victor Ebong.
The Ward Chairman, Elder Abia Inyang, delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of party members.
