Anglican Bishop Commissions Holy Trinity College Sickbay, Charges Students and Teachers to Excellence
His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Prof. Nneoyi Onen Egbe, Bishop of the Anglican Archdiocese of Calabar, paid a memorable pastoral visit to Holy Trinity College, Calabar, where he officially dedicated the school's newly established sickbay. The visit marked one of his major appearances at the church-owned institution in recent years and was warmly received by the management, staff, and students.
The Bishop, who was warmly received by the principal of the school, Lady Beatrice Ifeyinwa, commended the school for its commitment to the academic and moral development of young people. He encouraged the students to remain focused on their studies, stressing that reading is the key to acquiring knowledge and making meaningful contributions to society. He urged them to take their education seriously, reminding them that hard work and discipline are essential to achieving success in life.
Addressing the teachers, the Bishop expressed appreciation for their dedication and sacrifices. He encouraged them to continue serving faithfully and diligently, noting that although mission schools may not always offer the highest salaries, the value of their service goes beyond financial rewards. He urged them to remain committed to nurturing the students academically, morally, and spiritually.
Speaking on the newly commissioned sickbay, the Bishop described it as a significant step towards improving the welfare of students. He disclosed plans to engage a qualified community health worker who will be stationed at the facility to provide prompt medical attention to students who fall ill during school hours.
The commissioning of the sickbay reflects Holy Trinity College's commitment to creating a safe and healthy learning environment while strengthening its mission of providing quality education rooted in Christian values.
The visit ended with prayers for the continued growth of the school, its students, staff, and the Anglican mission in education.
