By Kingsley Agim The Cross River State Special Adviser Forum has commended Governor Bassey Edet Otu for approving a salary increase for political appointees, describing the move as timely and reflective of responsive, people-oriented leadership. The commendation was contained in a jointly signed statement issued on Thursday by the Chairman of the Forum and Special Adviser to the Governor on General Duties, Barrister Ekpenyong Akiba, and the Secretary of the Forum and Special Adviser to the Governor on Asset Management and Recovery, Barrister Gilbert Agbor. According to the Forum, the salary adjustment demonstrates Governor Otu’s clear understanding of prevailing economic realities and his commitment to the welfare, motivation, and dignity of political appointees who support the implementation of government policies and programmes.
