The Cross River State Ministry of Water Resources, in collaboration with the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWATSSA), Self Help Africa (SHA), and the Society for Water and Sanitation (NEWSAN), has inaugurated the Obubra Local Government Area Task Group on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (LTG-WASH) to strengthen WASH governance and service delivery at the grassroots level. The three-day inauguration programme was held at the Obubra Local Government Council Secretariat. Declaring the event open, the Chairman of the State Task Group on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (STG-WASH), Dr Okon Ita, said the event is "aimed towards system strengthening considering the LGA’s WASH status.” He noted that no meaningful development can be achieved without “LTG-WASH”.
