  On Tuesday the 7th of July, I sponsored a motion on the urgent need for the South African authorities to intervene and halt the recurring xenophobic attacks, intimidation and unlawful profiling of Nigerians and other African nationals in South Africa. It is sad that inspite of the fact that Nigeria stood firmly with South Africa during its darkest years of apartheid, these attacks continue to persist.  Our government, workers, students and citizens gave diplomatic, financial and moral support to the liberation struggle.
