I Will Deliver On My Mandate--Capt. Eno Inah

The Commissioner Nominee, Capt. Eno Utum Inah has assured Cross Riverians that he will work cordially with everyone in the state to deliver on his mandate after his swearing-in as Commissioner in the State. Captain Eno Utum Inah (Rtd) made the statement after his confirmation as Commissioner by the Cross River State House of Assembly.  "I'm a grassroots politician and my capacity is cut across the 18 local governments in the state. I am very grateful to the Governor for finding me worthy to be nominated as Commissioner of Cross River State and I promised to work vigorously to actualize the confidence in me". Cross River Assembly Completes Confirmation of Commissioner Nominees

The Cross River State House of Assembly has successfully screened and confirmed Mr. Oden Ewa as Commissioner, marking the conclusion of the comprehensive evaluation process initiated by the House a week ago.  The Assembly had on August 1 screened and confirmed 24 out of the 26 Commissioner nominees sent in by Governor Bassey Otu.  However, the screening and confirmation of Mr. Ewa was halted due to a compelling circumstance, while he was on official assignment during the initial screening, resulting in a temporary postponement of his confirmation. The Management of the University of Calabar has created the office of a 3rd Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Institution. This follows the approval by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, of the appointment of Prof. Peter C. Okafor of the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Faculty Of Physical Sciences, as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research, Linkages and Collaborations. The appointment as conveyed in a letter dated 27th July, 2023 and signed by the University Registrar, Mr. Gabriel O. Egbe, indicates that the appointment which is for a period of two (2) years in the first instance, takes effect from 30th July, 2023.
