FG Nominates C'River Finance Commissioner Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr for National Assignment

 



Federal Ministry of Finance has nominated Cross River State Commissioner for Finance, Mr Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr as a member of Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for 2020 National Council On Finance and Economic Development (NACOFED) Conference in Abuja.


The Conference which is organized by the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) will be held this November under the watch of  Honorable Minister of Finance, Budget and Planning, Mrs Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed.


The Council which is an advisory body responsible for drafting overall plans for national economic development in the country will look into economic policy making activities of Ministries Department, Agencies (MDAs) and monitoring  implementation of development projects, measures and programmes across the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.


Cross River State Finance Commissioner, Mr Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr disclosed that the Council was created as a form of economic-planning advisory body, bringing together the government and both sides of industry, management and the trade unions, with a general remit to identify obstacles to the attainment of improved efficiency and growth and to formulate appropriate means of overcoming them.


The Council will also look into FAAC issues arising from the Federal to States level and  actionable recommendations for sustainable improvement in the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and expenditure pattern.
