DAY 3; Sen.Gershom Bassey Empowers Biase Constituents, groups

The Senator Representing Cross River South Senatorial district, Sen. Gershom Bassey, yesterday, distributed tricycles to his constituents from Biase Local government Area.

The groups which benefited from the empowerment include, The voice of Biase(VOB), Biase Youths Movement(BYM), Biase Unity Forum(BUF), the groups were represented by, DG-VOB, Mr Iyom Ukam(BYM) and Barr Mba Ukweni(BUF).

While Presenting the items to the beneficiaries, Barr Ekpo Ada who represented the Senator urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items to the betterment of their members and communities, he also urged the group to promote unity and promised that more groups will be captured in the near future.

On their part, the beneficiaries lauded the senator's kind and promised to give him as much political support that he needs to any level.

Below is a breakdown of Some of the projects executed by Senator Gershom Bassey in Biase LGA;

ROAD PROJECTS:

I. Rehabilitation of Akpet Central-Ugbem-Biakpan-Asaga Road (proposed for 2017)

II. Rehabilitation of Calabar- Akamkpa-Biase Road (2017)

III. Earth works (2016 and 2017)

WATER PROJECTS:

I. Provision of Integrated Water Scheme in 4 locations: Okurike, Ikot-Ana, Ijum- Urugbam and Betem (2016)

II. Mini Solar Powered Water Scheme in Abakpa and Abaribara (2017)

YOUTH & WOMEN EMPOWERMENT: Provision of a 20 Seater Passenger Engine Driven Ferry Boat Powered by twin 85HP Outboard Engine, Ikot Ana.

UNICROSS Announces 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening, Introduces 19 New Programmes

The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has officially announced the commencement of its First Choice Admission Screening Exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session . The university has also unveiled 19 newly approved undergraduate academic programmes across its campuses. According to an official notice signed by the University Registrar, Dr. (Mrs) Catherine Ndifon Osai, eligible candidates include UTME applicants who chose UNICROSS as their First Choice and scored 150 and above in the 2026 UTME.
