Shun Vices Inimical to Your Growth, Prof Okom tells UNICAL Law students




The Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, University of Calabar (UNICAL), Prof Michael P.Okom, has advised students to shun vices in all ramifications, noting that such acts could impede their development.


Prof Okom gave the counsel when the Faculty of Law Students' Association paid him a courtesy visit and to congratulate him on his promotion to the top echelon of administration in UNICAL.


He encouraged them to cultivate the culture of hard work, punctuality and a knack for excellence, stressing that good virtues would take them higher in life.


Meanwhile, the leadership of the Association averred that they were particularly proud and privileged to have enjoyed the luxury of associating with Prof Okom.


According to them, Prof Okom is "visionary, purposeful, open, simply, unconditionally loving  and relentless crusader for peace and unity, which have made the Faculty one of the best in the institution.


They attributed all the awards, achievements, goodwill and projects attracted to the Law Faculty to his unique leadership abilities.


They further appealed to the Deputy Vice Chancellor whose tenure as Dean was replete with massive solarization of classrooms and offices to sustain the tempo of putting smiles on the faces of students and beyond.


They also appealed that he should use his good office to influence management to assist them in areas such as; constant power and water supply to the lecture halls and students' self-help toilets projects and a special hostel accommodation for Law students given the unique nature of their programme.
