CRSHIA TAKES HEALTH INSURANCE ADVOCACY TO DRIVERS ASSOCIATION ... As Body Signify Interest in Ayadecare Scheme

Consistent with the present administration's determination to make quality health care services affordable and accessible to all, the Cross River State Health Insurance recently took its advocacy drive to the Calabar United Commercial Driver Association to solicit buy-in and eventual enrolment into the Ayadecare Scheme.


 Speaking to the leadership of the Drivers Association in a meeting held at 1, Barracks Road, Calabar, the Director-General of the Cross River State Health Insurance Agency, Sir Godwin Iyala described the Association as "an important part of the society that must be included in the scheme of things for the desired impact to be felt.


The Director-General took his time to enlighten the Drivers on the nitty-gritties of health insurance and enjoined the body to accept the beneficial idea, adding that at a time when the economy of the country has been grossly affected by the covid-19 pandemic, catastrophic out-of-pocket expenditures on health-related issues must be avoided through enrollment in the Ayadecare (health insurance)Scheme.


Sir Iyala hoped that the bond and synergy between the Association and its affiliates will enhance responsiveness drivers and road transport workers across the State.


The CRSHIA boss, who, himself is a trailblazer in the insurance sector, also took the enlightenment a notch by educating the Association on other areas like vehicle insurance, third-party insurance, etc, while assuring the body of his utmost support in any area relating to insurance.


Buttressing the DG's submissions, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. David Ushie assured members of the Association,  Cross Riverians and residents of the State of the Ayade-led administration's political will to seeing that health insurance becomes a reality in the in Cross River.


Dr. Ushie gave an explicit notion of the benefits of health insurance and called for support and buy-in from everyone in the State.


In his response, the Association's Board of Trustees Chairman, Sunday Denis Ekong thanked the CRSHIA for bringing such vital information to the knowledge of the Drivers Association, and pledge his Association's support for the laudable health intervention.


The BoT Chairman promised to relay the good news to all its members and affiliate bodies, guaranteeing that enrollment of every member will be binding to all members of the Association.


The Director of Account, Dr. John Ekanem, Head of Operations, Mr. Chris Ushuasung, assisted the Director-General and Special Adviser in answering teething questions bothering on health insurance.
