NGO to Embark on needs assessment of Local Gov't Areas in the State

As part of the plans to ensure communal growth and development across the State,  a non-governmental organization, "No Sidon Look," is set to embark on a need assessment tour of Local Government Areas in Cross River State.


This development was announced by the Director-General, Comrade Portrait Peterson, during a recent briefing with journalists in Calabar.

Comrade Peterson said the assessment tour is necessitated by the organization's mandate which dwells on grassroots development and to ensure that the masses at all levels enjoy the dividend of good governance while also ascertaining the relationship between the grassroots and the council chairmen and its Legislatures.

It was also gathered that the assessment tour of LGAs across the state will include physical check on all the projects executed by Local Government Chairmen on their successful one year in office in a bit to showcase the projects of the council, creating awareness and sensitizing the masses on the efforts of the council in bringing the needed socio-economic development to the Local Government Area.


The DG assured that his team will further concern itself with checks based on Chairmen's campaign promises, as well as the efficacy of already executed project in the LGAs.


Revealing the forthcoming tour's itinerary, Comrade Peterson informed that the tour will commence on Monday, 10th of May 2021 beginning with Calabar South, Calabar Municipal, Bakassi and Akpabuyo LGAs.


Tuesday, 11th May 2021, the NGO's light will be beamed at Odukpani, Akamkpa, Biase and Yakurr LGAs, while Wednesday, May 12th, will be for  Obudu, Obanliku and Bekwarra Local Government Areas.


On Thursday, the 13th May 2021, will see the team touring Ogoja, Yala and Boki, with the NGO rounding up its tour on Friday, 14th May, with visits to Obubra, Etung, Ikom and Abi LGAs.
