Prof. Florence Banku Obi is The Best For Our University Now-- Daniel Obo

 



The Chairman of Youth Council of Nigeria Cross River Chapter, His Youthfulness Comrade Daniel Obo has officially congratulated the Vice-Chancellor of University Calabar on behalf of the Youth of Cross River State for moving the institution from 14th position in the University ranking structure to fifth Best University in Nigeria.


A statement issued by the Chairman on Monday in Calabar stated that " its a well earned reward for hard work, consistency, dedication to duty and track record of outstanding performance in your leadership that has taken the University to Fifth Best University in Nigeria.


Obo said they are confident that Prof. Florence would deploy her wealth of experience the more in lifting the fortune of the citadel, describing her recent achievement as another milestone in the history of the University.


" This is coming 8th month after she assumed office as the VC and we do not doubt that she is an agent of change in making a profound impact in the University. Since you have done this in 8th months, we the youth do not doubt that you will do even more to improve the quality and raise the standard of education in our institution". Obo


Chairman also commended academic and non-academic staff, the student's Union government, and all the students for keying into the vision and mission of Prof. Florence Obi in ensuring Unical returned to its original glory as a center of academic excellence and quality education in Nigeria.


He concluded by advising the VC to remain focus on achieving all her dreams for the University.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR

  The Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Cross River State, Professor Francisca Bassey, has expressed concern over the gravity of damage of the University's structures recorded in the wake of the rainstorm which swept through Calabar city yesterday, the 7th of May, 2025.  The Acting Vice Chancellor who was represented by the Director of Administration,  Professor Tom Ojikpong, expressed this concern when she led members of the University's management team on an on-the-spot inspection of the affected buildings in Calabar campus of the University.
